Social Media.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated expertise in social media management and digital marketing. At Capital Current, an online news publication, I served as an SEO Specialist, and Social Media Manager, developing engaging web and social media content, optimizing copy for various platforms to maximize audience engagement. During my time as a Digital Marketer with Digital Main Street, I crafted comprehensive digital and social media engagement plans for small businesses like Perch Magazine, utilizing client data and social media analytics to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide strategic communications recommendations.
Currently, as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the City of Oshawa, I manage City social media accounts, develop and implement social media strategies, and leverage graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator) to create compelling social media content and Facebook/Instagram advertisements. My diverse experience and strategic approach enable me to drive successful social media campaigns and achieve organizational goals.
Articles.
As a journalist, I have honed skills in delivering timely and engaging news content. As part of the Capital Current team, I wrote timely local news stories using the Canadian Press style, incorporating search engine optimization (SEO) best practices for enhanced visibility. I also utilized Tableau to create and embed interactive charts within articles, improving the readability of data-heavy news stories. My ability to craft engaging content and deliver informative news has been a hallmark of my work as a writer and reporter.
